Managing Inflammation
in Crosby
You ever wake up and find yourself stiff and achy all over and can’t recall doing anything to provoke this rude awakening? It may be that your hands and feet are sore, or that your eyes are unusually puffy. Well, the bad news is that it may be inflammation and you could have caused it. The good news is that you may be able to do something naturally about it from the comfort of your own home.
Now, it is important to know inflammation is part of the immune system's response to injury and infection. You can think of this as your body’s way of telling the immune system to heal and repair damaged tissue or protect you against foreign invaders, such as viruses and bacteria. So, inflammation is necessary, just not too much. Learn more here on how to manage inflammation by top Crosby chiropractor Murray Smith.
What You Could Be Consuming Or Doing To Cause Inflammation in Crosby MN
Consuming refined grains. This is the white breads, white rice, pastas, etc. The body turns them into sugar more quickly, and sugar is highly inflammatory. Grains can contain lectins which can cause an inflammatory cascade. Also, the gluten content can be higher. I see a lot of autoimmune patients, patients with chronic digestive issue, and a wide swath of allergies that gluten aggravates. Processed meats, soybean and vegetable oil, and alcohol can also be inflammatory.
Excessive stress can set off your stress response which triggers a release of chemicals that increase your breathing, heart rate, and make your muscles tense. Stress also sets off the immune system’s inflammatory response.
So, what to do? Glad you asked.
Manage your stress and exercising can do wonders. Not consuming the above-named grains and foods. Some of the grains to consider instead that are gluten free and delicious are amaranth, brown rice, buckwheat, quinoa, or whole oats. Consider Keto, paleo, or Paleo AI diet and lifestyles. Done properly, they are very anti-inflammatory and sustainable. I just guided a large group of my Shift Wellness Club members through a three-day bone broth fast that many reported feeling wonderful from and loosing weight as well. This is a great stepping stool to one of these lifestyles.
Pick something and change it for two weeks and see how you feel. I’m guessing great! Make the SHIFT today and call Shift Integrative Medicine in Crosby today!
